Apple Watch is a smartwatch which can connect with your iPhone, making it possible to use your Apple smart Watch to do all sorts of things like make calls, send and receive texts, make payments, track your exercise, and more.

There are 2 versions of Apple Watch: Apple Watch GPS and Apple Watch cellular + GPS. You’ll need the cellular version if you want to call and text when you don’t have your iPhone with you. The GPS + cellular Apple Watches that you can buy on Three are Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch Ultra, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Series 7.

Apple Watch cellular + GPS will automatically connect to the nearest Wi-Fi. That will enable you to use it to call, text and use data. If you want to be able to leave your phone at home and still enjoy these features, you need our Smartwatch Pairing Plan.

No, you don’t need an Apple Watch SIM as it has an eSIM built into it. An eSIM is a virtual SIM card that’s embedded into a device. If you buy our Smartwatch Pairing Plan, you can connect your Apple Watch to our network and pair it with your phone.

If you’ve got a Smartwatch Pairing Plan with us, your Apple Watch will automatically switch to the Three network. If it doesn't, follow the steps in the question below.

It’s simple to pair your Apple Watch with your iPhone. Firstly, make sure you have an iPhone 6S or newer, with iOS 15 installed.

Make sure your iPhone has Bluetooth turned on, and that it's connected to Wi-Fi or a mobile network.

  1. Turn on your Apple Watch
  2. Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo
  3. Place your iPhone near your Apple Watch and wait for the Apple Watch pairing screen to appear on your iPhone
  4. Tap Continue
  5. You should then follow the on-screen instructions to set up the cellular service by logging in with your My3 account details.

No, you can’t pair an Android device with Apple Watch. You’ll need an iPhone 6S or newer to pair your phone with your Apple Watch. If you’ve got a Samsung phone and would like to add a cellular smartwatch to your plan, take a look at our range of Samsung Galaxy Watches.

New customers can add an Apple Watch to their contract by choosing one of our Three Your Way plans. Existing customers can also buy an Apple Watch and add it to their account. You can do this by contacting our Contact Centre, visiting one of our stores, or by using our website.

Yes, if you’re an existing customer with iPhone 6S or above, you can add an Apple Watch to your existing plan with Smartwatch Pairing.

It depends whether you prefer a larger or smaller watch face.

Apple advises that the smaller options are generally more comfortable for smaller wrists, but it’s worth remembering that Apple Watch is a touchscreen, and you’ll need to read texts and alerts on the display.

Although the larger versions might weigh a few grams more, they’ve got more pixels and the text appears slightly larger in some places.

Here are the size details:

Apple Watch SE
This comes in 2 sizes - 44mm and 40mm. The 44mm device has around 448 x 368 pixels, and the 40mm holds 394 x 324 pixels. In terms of width, the 44mm version is 38mm wide and the 40mm is 34mm wide.

If you’re on a Three Your Way plan you can add Apple Watch SE to your contract. Check online or ask in-store for details.

Apple Watch Series 8
The Series 8 comes in 2 sizes: 41mm and 45mm. The 45mm Apple Watch Series 8 has around 484 x 396 pixels, and the 41mm version has 430 x 352 pixels. The widths are 38mm and 35mm, respectively.

Add Apple Watch Series 8 to your Three Your Way contract. Check online or ask in-store for details.

Apple Watch Ultra
The Ultra comes in 1 size: 49mm. The 49mm Apple Watch Ultra has around 502 x 410 pixels. The width is 44mm.

You can add Apple Watch Ultra to your contract with Three Your Way. Check online or ask in-store for details.

Apple Watches are water resistant but not waterproof. This means that it’ll be fine if it comes into contact with sweat, or if you splash it while you’re washing your hands or in the rain. Some Apple Watches – like Apple Watch Ultra are fine to wear while you’re swimming or showering, or even diving up to 40 metres. 1st Generation Apple Watches aren’t built to be submerged in water, but Apple Watch 2 and above are ok to be used in shallow water like swimming in a pool.

The latest Apple Watches are Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE, and Apple Watch Ultra.

Yes, if you’ve got the Sleep app on Apple Watch, your watch will be able to tell you roughly how well you slept, how long you slept for, and what your sleep patterns are.

Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 require iPhone Xs or later with iOS 17 or later.
